Title: Farm Equipment Operator

We’re Hiring

We’re growing and are currently looking for an Farm Equipment Operator to be located in Washington, Iowa.

Your role will change by the season from operating equipment, diagnosing and troubleshooting repairs to assisting in other areas of the farm. Depending on your experience the role could be adjusted to align with your skills (i.e. if you are strong in diesel mechanics you may spend more time working on equipment versus operating).

Cedar Family Farms provides competitive hourly compensation, health care benefits, retirement plan with company matching, and on-site company vehicles.

Compensation is highly determined by skills and prior work experience.

Seasonal hours (Spring and Fall) will average 70-80 hours or more per week and non-seasonal hours will average 40-50 per week.

What you will be doing

Operate farm and heavy equipment including tractors, planters, harvesters, tillage, sprayer, grain cart, bulldozer, etc.

Operate a semi to haul corn, soybeans, grain, etc.

Assist in walkthrough and maintenance inspections of pork production facilities

Adhere to all safety requirements and follow all standard operating procedures

Perform pre-use inspections on equipment

Drive a tender truck and appropriately mix chemicals

Perform equipment and facility maintenance and repair

Record and maintain accurate field records

Contribute to crop production with soil management practices and water quality management

Communicate effectively with supervisor and team member to complete objectives

Work against deadlines and maintain a high level of performance when working against a time constraint or deadlines


Valid driver’s license with CDL-A or the ability to obtain

Ability to obtain commercial pesticide applicators license

Manure application with experience utilizing a drag line a plus, not required
